Benefits and Opportunities This is a paid internship, at an hourly rate of $10. The San Luis provides housing, a small, beachfront apartment, for $30 a week. There is opportunity to network with leaders in the hospitality industry and ultimately gain a mentor or reference. Employees are given the option to participate in Landry's employee discount program. The program deducts a weekly fee from employee checks and allows up to 50% off company owned restaurants and amusement park costs. The Hilton also gives out very generous discounts for employees. The rates start at $35/night for hotels and suites and $45/night for resorts worldwide. Achievements While interning at the Hilton Galveston Island Resort, I gained knowledge of standards for a AAA Four Diamond Hotel. The standards are much higher than I ever expected. I also learned about legal requirements and procedures for taking photos of guests to use for promotional and marketing purposes. |
